Keyboard shortcuts
Keys, mouse gestures and touch controls.
Open the in-app reference with ?, F1, or the toolbar’s keyboard button. Press keys joined by + together. On macOS, use Cmd instead of Ctrl.
| Shortcut | Action |
|---|---|
| Ctrl + Z | Undo |
| Ctrl + Y or Ctrl + Shift + Z | Redo |
| Ctrl + A | Select all nodes in the current container |
| Ctrl + C or Ctrl + Insert | Copy selection |
| Ctrl + X or Shift + Delete | Cut selection |
| Ctrl + V or Shift + Insert | Paste copied nodes |
| Delete or Backspace | Delete selected nodes or connections |
| A or Insert | Open the palette near the view centre |
| Enter | Focus the selected node’s inspector editor |
| Ctrl + F or F | Find a node, not browser text |
| Ctrl + 0 | Fit selected nodes, or the current container if none are selected |
| L | Arrange selected nodes |
| Arrow keys | Move selected nodes one step |
| Shift + Arrow keys | Move selected nodes five steps |
| Ctrl + S | Save the local or cloud model |
| Ctrl + O | Switch to another model or start a new one |
| Ctrl + Enter | Calculate |
| Escape | Close palette or cancel keyboard connection; otherwise leave the container or clear selection at the top level |
| ? or F1 | Open shortcut reference |
| F11 | Fullscreen: fill the screen with the canvas and hide the model header |
- Node step: building-grid spacing when enabled; otherwise 8 canvas units.
- Focus: canvas shortcuts pause in fields, dropdowns, editable areas, buttons and modal dialogs. Read-only models block editing actions.
- Single keys: A, F, L and ? can be turned off in Settings, Accessibility, for example when speech input presses them by accident. Insert, F1, the arrows and every Ctrl shortcut keep working, and the in-app reference marks the four as off.
- Adding: no + Add toolbar button. Use the palette shortcut or canvas gestures, then choose an entry.
- Language: change it in Settings. Ctrl + L remains the browser’s address-bar shortcut, not a language control.
Focused controls have their own keys:
| Control | Keys and action |
|---|---|
| Palette search | / or Ctrl + F anywhere in the palette: jump to the search. Up / Down: result rows. Left / Right: entries in grid view. Enter: choose result. Escape: clear the search, then close. |
| Port or connection handle | Enter: connect to the sole compatible target, or open the target picker. Use Add node there for a compatible palette. |
| Connection label | Arrows: move 10 units. Shift + Arrows: move 1 unit. Home: reset. Save, undo and redo remain available unless a modal is open. |
| Waypoint | Delete / Backspace: remove that waypoint only. |
Shift moves nodes farther but labels more precisely. Escape cancels an active label or waypoint drag. Position changes can be undone.
- Left-drag empty canvas: pan. Wheel: zoom around the cursor, or pan with Ctrl + wheel to zoom when Settings, Interaction sets the wheel to pan.
- Drag a node: move it. Shift / Ctrl / Cmd + click: add to selection.
- Right-drag: box-select nodes. Hold Shift, Ctrl or Cmd to add to selection. Escape cancels. A completed selection drag does not open a menu.
- Double-click or right-click empty canvas: open palette at the pointer. Double-click does not zoom.
- Right-click a node: open its context menu.
- Right-click a connection or its label: open the connection menu. Click a label: select its connection. Menu key / Shift+F10 on a focused label opens the menu too.
- Middle-click: paste at the pointer when a copied selection is available.
- Double-click a container: enter it. Double-click another node: edit it in the inspector. Node buttons and fields keep their own controls.
- Connect ports: drag between compatible ports, or click them in sequence. Drop a connection in empty space to add and connect a compatible node.
- Double-click a connection line: add a waypoint. Drag the waypoint to reroute.
- Double-right-click a waypoint or nearby line: remove the waypoint. Double-right-click away from waypoints: delete the connection.
- Drag a rate label: move it and bend the connection. Double-click label: reset its position, not add a waypoint.
- One-finger drag: pan empty canvas or move a node. Pinch: zoom.
- Tap compatible ports: connect them. Drag a port connection into empty space to open the compatible-node palette.
- Toolbar multi-select: select several nodes without modifier keys.
- Toolbar actions: copy, cut, duplicate, paste, disconnect and delete.
- Drag labels or waypoints: reposition them. Use inspector controls to add or remove waypoints and disconnect connections without right-click gestures.
