Elements
Text, image and effect elements, and the settings they share.
Everything you place on a sign is an element. There are three kinds, added from the buttons above the layer list. A sign holds up to 128 of them.
Shared settings
Section titled “Shared settings”Every element, whatever its type, has these in the Element panel:
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| X / Y | Position in canvas pixels, measured from the top-left of the sign. |
| Rotation | Turns the element around its own origin. |
| Opacity | How see-through it is. Defaults to 0.50. |
| Layer order | Z-index. Higher draws in front. |
| Color tint | Multiplies the element’s colour. White leaves it untouched. |
The three types
Section titled “The three types”Draws a line of text.
| Setting | Notes |
|---|---|
| Text content | What it says. Line breaks are kept. |
| Text type | Normal draws the glyphs alone; Background fills a plate behind them. |
| Background color | The plate colour, used by Background type. |
| Font variant | Weight and italics Light through ExtraBold. |
| Font size, Letter spacing, Line height | Standard type controls. |
| Alignment | Left, center or right. |
| Bold, Uppercase | Quick toggles on top of the chosen variant. |
Draws a texture a mod icon, an RSS sign texture, or one of your own images.
| Setting | Notes |
|---|---|
| Image width / height | Drawn size in canvas pixels. |
| Scale X / Scale Y | Negative values mirror the image on that axis. |
| Slice X / Slice Y | 9-slice mode, for textures meant to stretch without distorting their borders. |
Use Icon & image browser in the inspector to swap the texture on an image element that is already placed. See Images & icons.
Scrolls a texture across the sign the RSS “panner”.
| Setting | Notes |
|---|---|
| Effect type | Linear panning scrolls smoothly; Step panning jumps in fixed steps. |
| Step frequency | How many steps per cycle. Only used by Step panning. |
| Animation speed | How fast it scrolls. |
| Effect scale | How large the scrolling texture is drawn. |
An effect uses a texture just like an image element does, so the image browser is available for it too.
Selecting and arranging
Section titled “Selecting and arranging”Click an element on the canvas, or a row in the Layers list, to select it. The inspector then switches to that element’s settings the whole-sign settings stay available below them.
The layer list draws bottom-last: the row at the bottom of the list is drawn on top on the canvas. Drag a row’s handle to reorder, or use the action bar’s bring to front / send to back buttons.
Right-clicking an element on the canvas opens a menu with copy, cut, duplicate, delete and the layer-order actions.
Quick actions
Section titled “Quick actions”The action bar above the canvas acts on whatever is selected:
Duplicate Bring to front Send to back Deselect DeleteThey stay visible but disabled when nothing is selected, so the bar never reflows under your cursor.
